OneDollarMap ("the app") is a simple app that lets you claim one of 1,000,000 spots on a world map by paying a one-time fee and leaving a name and a short message. This page explains what information we collect and how it's used.

Information we collect

• Name and message — the name and short message you type in when you claim a spot. These are public and shown to anyone using the app.
• Approximate location — with your permission, we use your device's location to place your pin on the map. To protect your privacy, your exact location is never stored — it is randomly shifted by up to 1 km before being saved.

We do not collect your email address, phone number, or any account/login information — the app does not require creating an account.

Payments

Payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store's standard in-app purchase system. We never see or store your payment or card details.

How your information is used

Your name, message, and approximate location are stored so they can be displayed on the public map to other users. That's the entire purpose of the app — there is no advertising, tracking, or resale of your data to third parties.

Data storage

Data is stored securely using Supabase, a third-party database provider, solely to operate the app's core map feature.

Children's privacy

OneDollarMap is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your rights

Since a claimed spot is meant to be permanent, we don't offer in-app editing or deletion of a spot once claimed. If you'd like your name, message, or spot removed for any reason, contact us at the email below and we'll handle it.
